Terms and Conditions
Please read our Terms and Conditions carefully before booking your accommodation. A sample of our rental contract is available on request.

Renting La Sapinière
The chalet is only available to rent as an entire building on a self-catering basis and is furnished to accommodate a maximum of 10 people at any one time. We suggest that your group appoints one person to deal with the booking, thereby keeping communication as straightforward as possible.
Payment
All charges are in Euros.
Payments should be made to our bank account here in France by transfer or cheque expressed in Euros and must originate from one account only. Our bank details will be provided at the time of booking.
Please verify the cost of transactions before making your reservation, as the owners of La Sapinière are not liable for any charges made by financial institutions which clients may incur when paying to rent the chalet; whether by transfer, cheque or cash. Clients should also ensure that the payment method used will allow funds to clear into La Sapinière’s account by the date specified on the booking form.
We do not accept any form of card payment.
Insurance
Clients are strongly advised to take out insurance which may help to recover rental costs in the event of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances. You are also reminded that some sports require additional insurance beyond that provided by conventional policies. Please consult your broker to ensure you are properly covered for all aspects of your holiday.
Reservations
For reservations made more than 8 weeks before the arrival date, clients are required to complete our booking form and pay a deposit equal to 15% of the total rental cost. We will acknowledge receipt of the payment by email, fax or post - whichever you prefer - once the funds have cleared into our bank account.
Confirmation
In order to confirm a reservation, the outstanding balance must be paid not less than 8 weeks before the arrival date. Again, once the payment is received, we will contact you to confirm your booking. If the outstanding balance has not cleared into our bank account by the date we have specified, we reserve the right to retain the 15% deposit and cancel your reservation.
Late Bookings
Subject to availability, clients may book the chalet less than 8 weeks before the arrival date by completing our booking form and paying the rental costs in full. We will confirm the booking once the payment has cleared into our bank account.
Cancellations
Cancellations should be made by email, fax or post. Telephone cancellations are not accepted. The following charges apply:
Cancellations made more than 8 weeks before the arrival date: Full refund.
Cancellations made 6 to 8 weeks before arrival date: Deposit retained. Remaining balance returned.
Cancellations made 4 to 6 weeks before arrival date: Deposit and 20% of remaining balance retained.
Cancellations made 2 to 4 weeks before arrival date: Deposit and 40% of remaining balance retained.
Cancellations made within 2 weeks of arrival date: Deposit and 60% of remaining balance retained.
Arrival & Departure
The chalet will be available from 16:00 hrs on the day of arrival and should be vacated by
10:00 hrs on the day of departure. Changeover day is Saturday. Please Note: For the period 19/12/10 to 02/01/11 the changeover day will be Sunday.
Breakages & Minor Damage
Clients are required to pay an additional deposit of 350€ to cover breakages and minor damage to the chalet, should they occur, during the rental period. This payment, which may be made by a cheque expressed in Euros or cash, will be collected once the inventory has been signed by the client on arrival. Important: The chalet keys will not be made available until we receive the deposit, so please ensure you have the means to pay when you arrive.
Should any breakages or minor damage occur during the rental period, the cost of repair or replacement will be deducted from the deposit. Once a final inspection has been carried out on the day of departure and the keys have been returned to us, the deposit will be refunded less any costs incurred. We fully understand that accidents will happen and prefer clients to report any mishaps as soon as possible; no matter how minor they may seem. Any delay in reporting a problem may result in the late return of your deposit.
Major Damage
Clients will be charged in full for any major damage exceeding a sum of 350€ which they cause to the chalet or its grounds. An invoice will be presented to the client either in person or by recorded delivery for any costs incurred. Charges will include loss of business if the chalet is rendered uninhabitable.
Liabilities
The owners of La Sapinière are not liable to pay compensation and cannot be held responsible for any changes, restrictions or cancellations made due to circumstances beyond their control. These include but are not restricted to: war, terrorism, civil unrest, natural or nuclear disasters, adverse weather conditions, failure of public utilities, failure of transport systems, fire, industrial action, burglary or vandalism.
We will not accept liability for the loss, theft or damage of clients’ belongings during their stay at the chalet.
No responsibility can be taken for the conduct of companies or individuals with whom the owners of La Sapinière make arrangements on the clients’ behalf.
Conduct of Clients
All clients, irrespective of their nationality, are expected to obey French law, behave in a civilised manner and not cause nuisance to those who live or work near to the chalet. The owners of La Sapinière will not provide any assistance to clients found in breach of the law and may request that they vacate the chalet immediately without notice.
Complaints
Should you wish to complain about any aspect of the service we offer, please contact us as soon as possible and we will try our very best to resolve the problem. We are unable to deal with complaints received more than 28 days after a client’s departure.
No Smoking Policy
The smoking of cigarettes, pipes or cigars is strictly forbidden inside the chalet.
Pets
Except for guide dogs, no birds or animals are permitted in the chalet.
Snow Clearing
Clients are responsible for clearing snow from, and applying salt to, the driveway and paths around the chalet using the means provided. Important: Please be aware that large amounts of heavy snow can fall from the roof suddenly and without warning. Clients and their children should avoid the areas where the roof is likely to discharge.
The Day of Departure
The dishwasher must be emptied, with all glasses, pans, crockery and cutlery returned to their proper drawers or cupboards. All bed linen and towels should be placed in the laundry bags provided. If the chalet is not left in a satisfactory state, a charge of 150€ will be deducted from the deposit.
