Chalet la Sapiniere

Places To Go, People To See!

When darkness falls, wrap up warm and browse the shops in the old village or Place de l’Aravet, both of which are a short stroll from La Sapinière. If you’re determined to keep skiing, Serre-Chevalier’s floodlit slopes will allow you to perfect your technique long after the sun’s gone down. A doctor’s surgery, chemist and dental practice are all near-by if those racing turns weren’t executed quite as well as you’d hoped!

Serre-Chevalier has many fine restaurants and bars where you’ll find regional specialities such as ‘Gigot à ficelle’, a leg of lamb suspended on a piece of string and cooked over an open log fire, or ‘Bière Alphand’, a beer brewed locally by the family of former World Downhill Ski Champion, Luc Alphand. A superb selection of wines is also available in the valley’s well stocked cellars and shops.

If you’re still not ready to retire to bed, the casino, a nightclub or quiet walk through the charming streets of medieval Briançon are a perfect way to end the day. Click Here to find out more.
